A graduate of college in October 1970 and began my surveying career in Brunswick Georgia in November of 1970. I advanced to Party Chief in 6 months and further promoted to chief of 7 survey crews in 1972, a graduate of International Correspondence School for land surveying in June of 1974. I came to Orlando in late 1974 and worked for Floranda Engineering in the survey department and Peabody Construction as project manager for lift station and sewage treatment plants until moving to Winter Haven in February of 1976 when I was licensed by the state as a professional Land Surveyor and employed with Macasphalt as a Land Surveyor and later Winter Haven Branch Manager with 70+ employees to direct on a daily basis. Our business was started in 1976 as Stephen E. Whitaker, L.S. and later incorporated in 1988 as Cypress Land Survey’s, Inc. The business was started by Stephen E. Whitaker, L.S. as the president and remains the same today. Our only location is downtown Winter Haven at the corner of Avenue “A” NW and 7th Street NW . We provide a full range of quality services relating to land surveying from boundary, topographical, platting of subdivisions, route survey, construction layout , control survey , quantity , mean high water line , as-built certification , record survey , GPS survey, etc. We have OSHA certification in Confined Space , FDOT Intermediate 8 hour maintenance of traffic control and Excavation safety course . A member of NSPS (National Society of Professional Surveyors) and FSMS (Florida Surveyors and Mappers Society) since 1981. Stephen E. Whitaker, L.S. is the Land Surveyor in responsible charge of the daily schedule and work assignments for the work crews, oversight of daily crew operation and problem solving as well as calculations and drafting at the office , also has court testimony experience as well as writes legal descriptions and prepares surveyors reports as needed .
